KfW IPEX-Bank is providing a revolving sustainability-linked loan facility amounting to US$80 million to container feeder carrier X-Press Feeders.
The Singapore-based company will use the financing to support fleet renewal, efficiency enhancements, and related initiatives aligned with its decarbonization pathway.
X-Press Feeders aims to achieve climate neutrality by 2050. It has been investing in more efficient vessels and sustainable fuels, and the latest transaction is part of its broader sustainability roadmap.
“We are delighted to once again support our valued client X-Press Feeders in its efforts to decarbonize with our financing,” says Aida Welker, member of the management board of KfW IPEX-Bank. "We expect that German and European suppliers in particular will benefit from this with their innovative products and profit from the conversions."
Founded in 1972, X-Press Feeders has grown to become the world’s largest independent container feeder carrier, providing regional feeder services across Europe and the Mediterranean, Asia, the Middle East, Africa, the Caribbean and Latin America. The renewal and modernization of its container ships is one of the company’s priorities.
