Citi has announced that Jan Metzger, head of investment banking for Japan, Australia, North Asia and Asia South, is joining its newly constituted banking executive team ( BET ) globally. He represents the Asia clusters.

The BET will set the standard for the bank’s franchise by driving performance, strategy and resource allocation. It includes senior leaders at Citi across financing, M&A, investment banking, corporate banking, and commercial banking.

In announcing the team last week, head of banking Vis Raghavan noted the strong momentum the bank is seeing across the franchise.

In Asia, Citi is the only bank currently ranked in the top 2 for underwriting across debt and equity financing – first for debt capital markets and second for equity capital markets.

“The BET will ensure that we have the right structure and leadership in place to better serve clients and drive substantial growth across banking, as we continue to invest in the business,” says Raghavan.
