Société Générale names Australia country officer
Marie Vinnell has extensive experience in project finance activities, infrastructure

French bank Société Générale has appointed Marie Vinnell as its chief country officer for the group in Australia and Sydney branch manager, with responsibility for overseeing global banking and investor solutions (GBIS) business activities in Australia.

Based in Sydney, she will lead the Societe Generale team in Australia to further develop its GBIS platform and continue to deliver high value-added solutions to its clients, leveraging on her deep knowledge of the Australian market, coupled with her extensive banking experience globally across different regions and markets. She will report directly to Cecile Bartenieff, CEO for Asia-Pacific, and become a member of the Asia management committee.

Vinnell has previously worked on project finance activities specializing in the infrastructure sector in Sydney, London and New York at the bank.

Before rejoining the bank in October 2015, Vinnell was a director at Westpac Institutional Bank in Australia. Prior to that, she worked in the infrastructure finance team in Société Générale’s New York office during 2007-2009, London office during 2004-2006 and Sydney office during 2001-2004.
