Australian bank ANZ has appointed Viacheslav (Slava) Shilin as head of credit strategy, effective immediately. Based in Singapore, he reports to Anshul Sidher, head of trading and markets, Asia, with a matrix to chief economist Richard Yetsenga.

Commenting on the appointment, Sidher says Shilin is “a highly experienced credit strategist with more than two decades of advising investors across Asia and Europe”.

Prior to ANZ, Shilin was at Citi leading macro and sector-specific credit analysis of fixed-income markets in Asia-Pacific. He was responsible for building the APAC team and integrating both macro research covering untapped Asia and emerging markets, as well as investment strategies, into the global product proposition.

Before Citi, he worked at Deutsche Bank, CEEMEA Credit Research, and UBS, covering fixed-income research. He has an MBA in banking and risk management.
