Citi Private Bank has appointed Hannes Hofmann as the global head of its family office group. Based in London, Hofmann, who starts in September, will report directly to Ida Liu, global head of Citi Private Bank and join the bank’s global leadership team.
Hofmann, who has an extensive global institutional wealth background, joins the bank from J.P. Morgan where he spent over 20 years in numerous roles globally. Most recently, he was the head of multi-family office and intermediaries for the Asia, EMEA ( Europe, the Middle East and Africa ) and Latin America regions.
Prior to this, he was the head of the global investment opportunities group in Asia, where he led teams in Singapore and Hong Kong that provided investment advice to sophisticated, trading-oriented clients in J.P. Morgan Private Bank Asia. He was also the head of investments in the US southeast region at J.P. Morgan representing US$20 billion in client assets across seven states and 150 advisers.
